We support
We love to travel in Rajasthan and work with the local businesses and artisans. That is why we support the Pushkar Children Trust.
The organisation is located in the city of Pushkar, India. The project was established in 2013 by Danish Trine Obel in cooperation with the local community. The project strives to generate a positive change for a group of poor children from the Nat-Gypsy community. The families live under extreme conditions in tents without access to water, electricity and basic life needs. The children are left behind in the system. At Pushkar Children Trust we believe that education is the best way to empower the entire community.
We work to enrol children to a local private school by finding private sponsors all over the world to pay for the children’s school fees and materials. We also run a daily After School Program where the children come to our Project House after school to receive extra homework tuitions with our private teacher. At the Project House we all eat a hot and nutrient-filled meal together and the children are free to play, paint, watch movies and just to be children.
We currently have more than 70 children enrolled in the education program. Every month we also support more than 40 families with a food package consisting of rice, flour, oil and lentils. This food supplement is an essential help for the families and ensures that the children has access to food at home also.
